The Journey.
I’ve always been a creative. After years of making music and videos for myself and others, I turned my attention towards making a difference, and speaking out on issues I’m passionate about. Time after time, that brings me back to us — Black Americans, and the topics that affect us most.
I broke through on YouTube by being myself, so that’s still the plan: radical transparency and continued growth. Our audience is intelligent, loyal, and diverse.

How it started…
Rough around the edges, backed by strong storytelling and a reliance on research. I surveyed the YouTube landscape and decided to do things differently: mostly outside, reporter-style, with cinematic production value. My sources were cited from day one…this episode was more curse-heavy too, a trend that would change almost immediately as the series matured.
The subject matter? Mostly scams, social issues, and anything else that matters to us.
how it grew…
The clip below is from the mid-way point of our series launch in year one, showcasing our progress in scripting, pacing, and dynamic storytelling. I say “our” because I added a research director and research assistant who occasionally assist with deep dive$ episodes. They were viewers who reached out to help, and became friends.
…and how it’s going.
This segment from a recent episode demonstrates some of our best work as we got more comfortable with new formats in year 2. The tone and visuals got more grounded, music more subtle, and message more pointed. We were also able to attract larger collaborators due to our increased cultural relevance.
Our subject matter is diverse, and we don’t back away from controversial topics; including manipulative influencers, divisive social movements and polarizing politics. We’ve earned our audience’s trust through radical transparency and rigorous research, and will continue to improve every day.
